Readioo creates reading joy at the Happy Moon preschool in Vårberg
At the Happy Moon preschool in Vårberg, part of Rosholmen Education Academy, language stimulation work has been given a new boost – thanks to Readioo. Here, the reading pen is used together with interactive books and posters to strengthen children's language, vocabulary and love of reading. The result: greater independence, more engagement and a reading environment where all children have the chance to succeed – on their own terms.
Melisa, a preschool teacher at Happy Moon, says that many children at preschool have Swedish as a second or third language and it is common for their Swedish vocabulary to be weak. For her, it is clear that Readioo has become an invaluable complement in the language development work.
“Many of our children don't get much reading aloud in Swedish at home. That's why we need to create more opportunities to encounter books in everyday life,” she says.

A reading corner that children seek out
When Readioo was introduced at the preschool, the children's curiosity was immediately aroused. A special Readioo corner was created with access to reading pens that activate sounds, narrations and music in books and other educational products. Here, the children can pick up a pen themselves, choose a book and read at their own pace.
– The children quickly pick up words and expressions from the books, precisely because they can listen over and over again. This means that their vocabulary grows. Readioo is easy to use and very clear. I also appreciate that it gives the children a digital experience without a screen, says Melisa.
The books are also used in smaller groups where the educator reads together with the children and where the audio support from Readioo helps to capture attention and create understanding. At Happy Moon, the material is used in all age groups – from the very youngest to the preschool class.

Living walls with interactive posters
Another popular part of the material is the interactive posters that are put up on the walls in several rooms. Next to each poster is a reading pen in a holder. The children can go up to the pictures themselves, tap them and listen to the words.
– Other material that is not interactive, children get tired of quite quickly. With Readioo's posters it is different – they become more alive and the children can interact with them. The sound and interactivity are attractive, says Melisa.
She emphasizes that the children control the use themselves, which contributes to both motivation and pride.
Melisa also uses Readioo at home
Readioo is not only used at preschool. Melisa says she also uses the material at home with her own children, 1 and 2 years old.
– It's amazing to see how even young children can acquire language in this way. I recommend it to everyone I know and think it should be available in all preschools and in all homes.
